Kaslo is a picturesque little village with a population of 1,032. The townsite is at the delta of the Kaslo River, which flows into Kootenay Lake. With tree-lined avenues and heritage houses at every turn, it is the quintessential small town of everyone's imagination.
For summer visitors there are numerous hiking and backpacking trails. There are also many opportunities for biking. The Monster for DH Mountain bikers, and the Wagon Road for those that prefer a little flatter terrain. The River Trail is a lovely short hike right within the village limits. True Blue trails offers a network of hiking/biking trails.
In winter, Kaslo is your gateway to alpine skiing, cat-skiing cross-country skiing, skating, snowmobiling and ice fishing.
